Article placed on the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) website describes the research being directed by mechanical engineering professor Joyce Blandino
April 28, 2017 – Research conducted at VMI is targeted to someday help amputees in developing countries. A capstone project directed by Professor Joyce Blandino involved three cadets in the mechanical engineering design of a low-cost prosthetic for below-the-knee amputees.
While two of the cadets focused their efforts on making the design more dynamic for a greater range of motion, the third cadet used RecurDyn to produce a walking gait simulation, also producing an honors thesis on his research.
