After creating and simulating a model in RecurDyn, you can perform a parametric study to adjust the simulation results based on actual test results or to optimize design parameters. During this process, you often have to modify parameters several times. Using parametric values (PV) makes this task easier. This function is particularly useful when editing a parameter applied to several entities with the same material properties.
To edit material property parameters with the Parametric Value (PV) function, perform the following steps:
◾ In the Properties dialog window for the entity, select the parameters that you edit frequently.
Example: Contact Stiffness, Friction, Spring Damping Coefficient, etc.
◾ On the SubEntity tab, in the Parameter group, click the PV icon.
◾ In the Parametric Value List dialog window, click Add, and then create the PVs to apply to the material properties.
◾To apply a defined PV to a material property, type the name of the PV in the Name field or click the PV button in the input field and select the PV from the list. (You can select multiple entities in the Properties dialog window and apply all of the selected entities at the same time.)
